Translated means, "Grandmother's potatoes." They are dressy and delicious. Perfect for a buffet. Try these for the holidays with The Best Prime Rib, Asparagus in Teriyaki Butter and Apricot Glazed Carrots or, Gingered Veggies. Choose a dessert. All can be made in advance!

   

STEPS

INGREDIENTS

1. Preheat the oven to 350. Spray grease an 11" x 14" glass baking dish. Set aside.

2. Combine and stir these ingredients in a 3-4 quart saucepan. Heat just to the boiling point over a medium heat for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat. Set aside.

3 cups heavy cream, or half and half
3 T. Dijon mustard
1 t. fresh garlic, chopped or my garlic puree
3 T. butter
2 t. salt
1 t. white pepper

3. Wash the potatoes well. Slice them thinly and drop into the cream sauce.

4. Place in the prepared pan. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

2 1/2 lbs red potatoes, unpeeled

5. Uncover, garnish with the cheese and bake for 30 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender. (Potatoes may be prepared to this point 1-2 days in advance. Chill)

6. Serve, garnished with paprika and parsley

1/2 t. paprika
2 T. fresh parsley, finely chopped
